Australians Steve Elkington and Mark Hensby have taken the number of withdrawals from the US PGA Championship at Medinah to eight.

Both cited "personal reasons" for pulling out on the eve of the last major of 2006. They are replaced by Americans Billy Andrade and Charles Warren and it gives both of them a chance to make the Ryder Cup.

This is the last qualifying event for the United States. Andrade is 33rd in the table and has to finish first or second on Sunday, while Warren is 85th and would have to win.

Also out from the original field are Darren Clarke, Paul McGinley, Shingo Katayama, Wayne Grady, Bo Van Pelt and Chris Starkjohann.

The replacements for them are Swede Daniel Chopra and Americans Joey Sindelar, Craig Barlow, Harrison Frazar, Jonathan Byrd and Bob Estes.
