Quotes

Tiger Woods (65 - 202): "I've really hit the ball well. After the second hole I was off and running. It does not feel like a major - normally you are mostly making pars, but here you've needed a bunch of birdies."

Luke Donald (66 - 202): "I've not really contended in a major before. This will be a little different pressure, but it's what I practise for. It will be fun. I saw a little bit of the early golf and knew I needed a fast start. Saving par on the first was key - you never want to bogey the first - and after birdies on the next two I was off and running."

Mike Weir (65 - 204): "It was a special day, a lot of fun. It was one of those days even when I was aiming away from the flag a little bit, I seemed to either push it right at the flag or pull it stiff. It was kind of one of those days it was really going for me. I played much better today than the first couple of days as well. I got a lot out of the round yesterday and today. I hit my irons much better and putted pretty well, as well."

Geoff Ogilvy (68 - 205): "Obviously I didn't get off to the best start. I missed a 6 foot putt for bogey on the first, so I made a double. But I made a few pars and then made a three on the fifth which is nice to get them both back in one go. Then after that, I mean, really, after the first hole, I played as well as I have all week or better."

Chris DiMarco (67 - 208): "My game has been good since the British Open. I didn't realize that for some reason my putter had gotten bent, the grip had got bent over, the top half, about 30 degrees, so I was missing everything to the right. I found it out on Tuesday here, and then once I got my putter fixed, it all clicked back in. I've been putting great this week and obviously made a lot of good shots. Made a lot of birdies this week."

Jim Furyk (69 - 211): "The course is playing soft out there, and it's definitely gettable today. I got off to a pretty fast start today, and I had my opportunities, I just didn't really take advantage of them."

Lee Westwood (71 - 212): "I didn't get off to a very good start. Bogey on the fifth was like missing two shots, really. I just didn't play very well."

David Howell (73 - 215): "I didn't play very well at all. I struggled with my swing all week, and today was more of the same, so it was a case of damage limitation, really, even though I got off with a nice birdie start. I'm not really swinging the club well enough to attack any pins. I got away with the lowest number I could."

Joey Sindelar (73 - 217): (Talking about albatross at the fifth) "You know, they're all luck. There's always plenty of guys that hit good shots into par 5s in two and nothing happened. But every once in a while, it happens. It was a huge thrill."
