Colin Montgomerie (71 - 148): "I played better today, but yesterday was disappointing - I didn't play very well at all. It was bitty. My rhythm's not quite there."

Sergio Garcia (70 - 139): "It was a a rough start but I came back nicely and my putting is getting there. Yeah, I'm in a decent position, no doubt about it. This is a major and it's not easy no matter what some people might think. It's always tough, and it gets tricky around the greens, so you have to be very consistent there. You know, it's a good, decent score and hopefully I can have a couple more good ones and see what we can do."

David Howell (71 - 142): "That was a real grind. The club felt alien in my hands. Hopefully that's my bad day."

Ian Poulter (70 - 140): "After an early bogey I was rock steady. It's like the US Open. You can't be silly. You can't go at real tight flags and you just can't press."

Billy Andrade (69 - 136): "I've been doing this for a long time, 19 years. I've had a few chances in majors, not a lot. But I really feel that I have nothing to lose. Why be afraid now? Now is the time to enjoy this and go out and play the best I can play and if it's good enough, then we'll have a hell of a party on Sunday night."

Luke Donald (68 - 136): "Any time you can play a round that's a major without making a bogey like I did today, nothing too much is going wrong. Obviously I got up and down a few times and made some good par putts, but played pretty solidly all in all."
