The defending champion should perhaps be looking at a third major this season but his last hole calamity at Winged Foot in the US Open handed the title to Geoff Ogilvy. He never really got going at Hoylake but will have the chance to get back in the groove in an event which has seen him post three other top 10s as well as last season's triumph. Only managed a tie for 57th at Medinah back in 1999 but there seems little chance of a repeat of such a modest display this time around.
